More than anything else, your brakes are responsible for keeping you safe out on the roads. Brakes are there to prevent the accidents that would trigger the use of your other safety features, such as the air bags, and those are generally the safety features you never want to have to rely on. So, with that in mind, keeping your brakes in good shape should be of the utmost importance to all drivers. But how do you know when its time for a brake service? There are a couple of ways.
When was the last time you had your brakes serviced? Do you remember? If it has been more than six months, then it is probably past time to have your brakes serviced. Most auto repair technicians will recommend having a professional look at your brakes at least twice a year, so if it has been longer than that, you are overdue.
The brake pads or brake shoes in your vehicle are designed to wear out over time. If you hear squealing or grinding when your brakes are in use, that is your car’s way of telling you that these components are worn past their best days and need replacing. During a brake service, our team will replace these components (if they need it), and check your entire braking system for damage. cIf we find any, we will work with you on getting the repairs done and you back on the road.
If you can’t remember your last brake service and/or your brakes are making noise when you use them, you are most like past due for a quick brake service. Just call our team of brake experts or swing by our shop and let us take a look. Don’t take chances with your safety; get a brake service today!
